Shaheen Afridi Biography

Shaheen Shah Afridi (Urdu: ─ایین ─اففمریدی, Pashto: ─اههین ─ا ا الرریدی; born 6 April 2000) is a Pakistani professional cricketer who plays as a fast bowler for the Pakistan national cricket team. He made his debut for the Pakistan national team in April 2018, and made his debut for the all-Pakistan national team in December 2018.In 2017, Afridi was billed as a 17-year-old 6-foot-6 Pakistani fast bowler who can bowl at ninety miles per hour,  as well as for his ability to hit big shots.He considers himself an all-rounder and strives to excel in bowling, batting and fielding. In August 2018, he was one of thirty-three players to receive a valuable contract for the 2018-19 season from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

In March 2021, it was announced that Shahinshah Afridi may be engaged to Shahid Afridi's eldest daughter, Aqsa. Shaheen belongs to the Pashtun tribe of Zahahel Afridi. He grew up in Landi Kotal, a town in Khyber district, Pakistan, on the border with Afghanistan. He is the youngest of 7 brothers; his older brother, 15 years older than him , is Riaz Afridi, who played one test in form for Pakistan in 2004. Shaheen started his cricket career at the Tartar ground in Landi Kotal, which is known as after the nearby Tartar Hills.Riaz Afridi added Shaheen to hard-ball cricket at the FATA Under-Sixteen Trials in 2015, and until then Shaheen has performed the most effective cricket with a tennis ball. Success at this level led Shaheen to be selected for the under-16 tour of Australia in November 2015, where he completed his component with four wickets as part of 2-1 wins in the one-day and Twenty20 series.
In December 2016, Afridi was named in the Pakistan national under-19 cricket team that was selected for the 2016 Asian Under-19 Cup held in Sri Lanka.He took 3 wickets for 27 runs in Pakistan's 9 win over Singapore in the U-19 Asian Cup match. 

In early September 2017, Afridi signed a one-year contract with Dhaka Dynamites, the Premier League franchise of Bangladesh. He later made his debut for Khan Research Laboratories in the 2017-18 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 26 September 2017. In a healthy second innings, he took 8 wickets for 39 runs,  excellent figures through the Pakistan bowler on debut quality. In December 2017, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He was Pakistan's leading batsman in the match with 12 wickets. Following Pakistan's matches at the event, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Afridi as the team's rising megastar. On 23 February 2018, he made his twenty20 debut for Lahore Qalandars in the 2018 Pakistan Super League (PSL). The following month in the PSL, at some point in Lahore's trial with the Multan Sultans, Afridi took five wickets for 4 runs. Lahore won the match by 6 wickets and Afridi was named Player of the match.
In April 2018, he was named in Balochistan's squad for the 2018 Pakistan Cup. He made his debut for Balochistan on 25 April 2018.In July 2019, he decided to play for the Rotterdam Rhinos in the first edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament.  However, the event was cancelled the following month.

In December 2019, it was announced that Afridi would play for Hampshire County Cricket Club in the 2020 t20 Blast in England.nIn September 2020, Hampshire confirmed his participation in the 2020 T20 Blast and announced that he would be available after completing his countrywide duties. On 20 September 2020, in the final ball of the institution's suits inside the t20 blast, Afridi scored a hat-trick and four wickets in four balls, finishing with figures of 6/19 from his four overs and recording first-class bowling figures in the Rose Bowl in T20 cricket. On 2 October 2020, as part of the 2020-21 National T20 Cup, Afridi took his 2nd catch with 5 wickets in 3 T20 video games, with figures of five/20 from his 4 overs. Three days later, Afridi made another breakthrough with 5 wickets, with five/21 in the match against Sindh.
In March 2018, he was included in the Pakistan Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against the West Indies. He made his T20I debut for Pakistan against West Indies on 3 April 2018.In September 2018, he was named in Pakistan's One Day International (ODI) squad for the 2018 Asian Cup. On 21 September 2018, he made his international debut for Pakistan against Afghanistan. 

In November 2018, he was included in Pakistan's test squad for their series against New Zealand. He made his international debut for Pakistan against New Zealand on 3 December 2018.
In April 2019, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. On 5 July 2019, against Bangladesh, Shaheen became the youngest bowler to take five wickets in a World Cup match, finishing with figures of 6/35.These were also the best bowling figures from a bowler for Pakistan in a World Cup match. After the World Cup, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Afridi as the team's rising star. In December 2019, during the second test match against Sri Lanka, Afridi made his first five-wicket haul in test cricket. In June 2020, he was included in a 29-man squad for Pakistan's trip to England during the COVID-19 pandemic. In July, he was shortlisted for Pakistan's 20-man squad for the test matches against England.
