PSL 6 Season Likely To Resume From June 9

The 2021 Pakistan Super League (also called PSL 6 or for sponsorship reasons HBL PSL 2021) is the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League, a Twenty20 cricket league franchise that was established through the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2015. This is the second season spent entirely in Pakistan. The PSL government has confirmed that Season 6 consists of the same six teams as in previous seasons and does not use growth plans. It was scheduled to begin in February and March 2021.
On 4 March 2021, the PKB suspended the tournament, in which 14 of the scheduled 30 group matches were played, after several cases of COVID-19 were reported.  On March 11, 2021, the circuit board announced that they intended to move the remaining furniture to June 2021. On 18 March 2021, CPP proposed to resume the event from 2 to 6 June and terminate it on 20 June 2021, with all events to be held in Karachi. On 11 April 2021, the PKB announced that the final matches were postponed to 1 June 2021. However, on May 4, 2021, all teams asked the PSC to move the final claims to the UAE due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in Pakistan. CSP offered to host the entire tournament in Abu Dhabi. On May 20, 2021, permission was granted to host the remaining PSL 6 suits in the UAE.

Venues

In June 2020, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that they were planning to host the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar as the 5th venue in this version of the PSL. However, delays in the construction of the stadium may further complicate the hosting of the tournament matches. In addition, the PCB planned to keep several suits in Faisalabad and Hyderabad properly. The stadium in Hayatabad has also been announced as a likely venue for some matches. In September 2020, KSP showed, that the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar and the Bugti Stadium in Quetta will not be able to host matches this season. However, it was later revealed that this event could occur in Karachi and Lahore.

Week 1

In the 2021 PSL hole match, the Karachi Kings beat the Quetta Gladiators by 7 wickets. For Karachi, Joe Clark scored forty-six points from 23 to test his first win of the season. During Game 2, Rashid Khan made his debut for the Lahore Qalandars, helping them to a 4-wicket victory over Peshawar Zalmi. In the third game, Lewis Gregory proved his true worth to Islamabad by teaming up against the Sultans of Multan. He scored 49 from 31 balls to give his team three-wicket wins. The next day, Lahore tried to maintain its winning start in the confrontation with Quetta. They did so with the help of 1/2 centuries from Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman, leading them to a nine-wicket victory.
Tom Kohler-Cudmore helped himself to a fifty-three to sign Peshawar's first win of the season against Multan. James Vince scored 84 early on to propel Multan to 194, but Cudmore and Imam-ul-Haq gave Zalmi a 6-wicket win. In Game 6, Sharjil Khan's hundred and five points were no longer enough as Islamabad successfully chased down 197 to beat Karachi by 5 wickets. The next day, Multan won his first victory of the season. Their captain Mohammad Rizwan) leads from the front, scoring 76 to offer Multan a 7-wicket victory. On the same day, Peshawar chased over a hundred and ninety for the second time in a row to defeat Quetta by 3 wickets.

Week 2

Babar Azam scored in nine matches, leading Karachi to a 7-wicket win over Multan. On the same day, Wahab Riaz took 4-17 to lead Peshawar to a 6-wicket victory over Islamabad. In the sport of eleven, Lahore beat Karachi by 6 wickets, regardless of Sharjeel Khan's score of 64. Islamabad United chased down 156 with 3 points to spare in 12.
This was largely due to Paul Stirling, who scored a half-century for the 6-wicket win. Babar Azam's seventy-seven goals helped Karachi to a 6-1 victory over Peshawar in the thirteenth game. That turned into an assist with the help of Mohamed Nabi, who scored an extra 1/2 century to get them back to the top of the table. In the final event, before the tournament was suspended, Quetta scored its first win of the season over Multan, scoring 22 points. This was the first time a first-batting team had won in a standoff.
